Ok, so I am little behind on this post. But I wanted to make sure I shared some Fall Bucket list ideas for all of you Urbanites. Living in a large city has many benefits, however sometimes enjoying nature and the change of the seasons can all but be forgotten. Here are a few ideas for enjoying the fall season while living in an urban city.

  1. Enjoy the last few weeks of your local farmers Market
  2. Carve Pumpkins
  3. Visit your local parks for fall festivals
  4. Visit a pumpkin farm, or lot
  5. Enjoy a foggy morning walk at a nearby forest preserve
  6. Visit a forest preserve and enjoy the changing of the leaves
  7. Carve the pumpkins you picked up
  8. Toast your pumpkin seeds
  9. Make a scarecrow using old children cloths and leaves or hay
  10. Make your own Halloween costumes
  11. Host a family game night
  12. Make pumpkin flavored baked goods
  13. Host a nature scavenger hunt
  14. Take a bike ride
  15. Visit the Library for fall and Halloween books
  16. Make fall leaf aft
  17. Play in the fallen leaves
  18. Make fall scented candles
  19. Tell your children about your favorite fall memories, then have them tell you yours
  20. Make kettle Corn
  21. Make homemade caramel apples
  22. Take a train ride out of your city and into a less populated area, enjoy the fall foliage
  23. Make soup using seasonal vegetables
  24. Plant fall flowers
  25. Make apple cider donuts (easier than you think)
  26. Roast marshmallows using a fire pit, gas fire pit or indoor fireplace. Dont have any of those, no worries, roast them over the stove
  27. Host a movie night, pick halloween movie that the whole family can watch
  28. Light a candle at dinner, a nice way to add warmth and light
  29. Sip warm apple cider outside
  30. Make a bird feeder, migrating birds will appreciate the food
  31. Make homemade hot chocolate
  32. Identify the different trees in your neighborhood
  33. Create a fall gingerbread house
  34. Make a what we are thankful for garland
  35. Take a trip to the zoo
  36. Use your slow cooker for fall soups and more
  37. Have a fall picnic before it gets too cold
  38. Go to a football game, it doesn’t need to be pro, any football game will do
  39. Enjoy family dinners and catching up with your children after a long day
  40. Be grateful for the changing of the seasons
