Thank you for finding me here at My Sweet Urban Life. I am so excited to finally start this journey and to share it with you. It is my hope that this blog can serve as a go-to, get sane, get my life together community.
Five years ago I became a mother for the first time and boy was I unprepared. They say you can never be truly prepared for such a life altering event. It turns out, I was prepared for the baby, as prepared as one can be anyway, what I wasn’t prepared for was how my life would change. I knew there would be diapers and feedings and screaming, and terror that I would do something wrong. I didn’t know that I would be unable to keep a schedule, or shower or let my self go in such an epic way.
When my son turned one, I finally began to come out of the fog of new motherhood and what I later realized was post-partum depression. When the smoke began to clear, I realized, that in order to be the best possible mom and spouse, I had to have a plan. I had to plan meals, plan learning activities, plan dates with my spouse and plan to take the time to take care of my needs.
That is what this blog is all about, the plan that set me and my family up to be healthy, happy and enjoy life. I want to share all of the lessons I have learned along with the failures. I hope this blog is a place of relief and excitement.
Please come along with me on my journey, as we do this thing called life.
Please check out my first official post all about scheduling and how it saved me from a roller coaster of not knowing what was coming next…also preventing me from pulling the little bit of hair that I left have out.
